Membership gives you access to…

  • A unique Resource Library on Volunteering/Volunteerism including books, manuals and journals from New Zealand, Australia and around the world. Registered members may borrow as per Volunteering Auckland policies.
  • Training for Co-ordinators / Managers of Volunteers – you will be informed of seminars, forums and training workshops specifically for your role of Volunteer Co-ordinator/manager through the quarterly “Volunteer Trends” newsletter or via our member email group. [POA - Training workshops are at subsidised costs for registered members].
  • An advice and consultancy service in the area of volunteerism. Registered agencies receive 3 hours’ free consultation in developing their volunteer involvement programme. This must be utilised within 6 months of a new registration. A consultation fee of $95.00 per hour is charged for additional hours and to all non-registered agencies.
  • We advertise for generic volunteers through many avenues to continue the supply of potential volunteers to Volunteering Auckland and consequently to your agency if required/requested.
  • A volunteer recruitment and referral service of potential volunteers to your agency. We individually interview each person before referring to your registered positions. Each position must adhere to Volunteering Auckland's policies [see Polices for Registration document].
  • Invitations to attend or participate in events celebrating, recognising and mobilising volunteers in greater Auckland, e.g. UN International Volunteer Day (December 5).
  • Annual promotions: National Volunteer Awareness Week (second week in June), UN International Volunteer Day (December 5), Volunteer Expos, Conferences, Festivals, Displays, etc.
  • Membership of COVAK (Co-ordinators of Volunteers Auckland) - COVAK is a networking forum for co-ordinators and managers of volunteers. COVAK meets bi-monthly to enable co-ordinators and managers to network with their colleagues in the non-for-profit sector, share experiences and discover valuable and innovative ways to effectively recruit, retain and recognise their volunteers. COVAK is open to two representatives from your organisation [$10 per person for each additional person].
  • Access to teams of one-day volunteers i.e. having a team of people available for that project that you have put off, e.g. painting the fence, overhauling the gardens, helping with your strategic planning process, etc.
  • Information on all matters concerning volunteer management “best practice” and managing a non-profit organisation
